Lots of updates!

May 5
We had a very fun day at my friend Stephanie's house! I went over the help her make "whoopie pies" for our MOPS group the next day. (She had a really yummy Amish recipe that we used. I have a new yummy dessert to make now!) The kids had a great time jumping on the trampoline, Lauren even enjoyed herself. I wasn't sure how she'd be jumping with the big kids.

The only time Lauren didn't like the trampoline was after the third picture. She landed on her face and was not happy about it! She recovered quickly, though, and was jumping and laughing again a few minutes later.

We went through a few weeks where we thought we may be moving back to Orlando with Chris' job, but we are staying in Perrysburg instead. It was kind of bittersweet. We would love to be in Orlando near our friends and family there, but we love it here and we have friends and family here too. (In Orlando, houses are much more expensive so that would have been one down side.)

Chris' sister, Ashley came to visit us last Thursday through Yesterday (May 20th) and it was so good to see her! Lauren, David and I drove to the Detroit airport and then quickly headed back here to drop David off for kindergarten. After we dropped David off at school Lauren, Ashley and I headed over to a smoothie place in Maumee for lunch. As you can see, Lauren was very excited about her chocolate-banana smoothie!

Here are a few pictures for Grandma Schel of us not enjoying ourselves too much without you :oD After lunch we headed to the grocery store to pick up some yummy food, Lauren was not excited about shopping.

On Friday we headed over to Cedar Point for the day. It was supposed to rain but ended up being gorgeous! It was also really nice because kids are still in school so it wasn't very crowded. Chris and I wondered how the kids would do, but they had a blast!

When we got into the park, David and Lauren we a bit overwhelmed by all the colors and noises. There was so much to look at, they weren't sure where to look first.

This was one of the first roller coasters that Ashley and I went on (and the only one I remembered to take a picture of). I can't remember what it was called, but it was a lot of fun! Lauren cried the whole time I was in line because she didn't want me to ride, I think she got scared watching it!

Chris was such a sweetie and said he didn't want to go on a lot of rides because he wanted Ashley and me to ride everything. We did get him to go on one or two things. David had fun when we hit the Snoopy Village (I think that is what it was called) he loved all the "vehicle" rides the best. Lauren watched him and acted jealous until we found one that she could ride too.

David loves classic cars and was really excited to go on this ride. Lauren wasn't so sure about it until the cars started to move, then she had a blast! I think she was also very excited to have her own car.

Chris sent Ashley and me to walk the park and ride as many rides as we could. We found a few that we don't want to ride again (I think my head still hurts a bit from the "Mean Streak"!) and we rode a few fun ones too. Chris and the kids played at Camp Snoopy and David found a few more rides to play "daredevil" on.

Both kids were really excited to ride the mini-train, David especially loved being the conductor!

Look how cute my little family is on the Cedar Point version of the Teacup ride! (I took a pass on that one, I didn't think that getting sick on a ride would be very fun!)

Lauren made a new friend while we were at Cedar Point too!

I can't remember which ride this is, but there were a few cute little Canadian Goose families hanging out under it. Every time the coaster passed over them they would scatter! Lauren had fun watching the geese with her Aunt Ashley!

Here we are toward the end of the night, I think it was probably around 9pm or so. Lauren put up a good fight, but finally passed out before we left the park.

We had to say goodbye to Aunt Ashley yesterday evening. Lauren cried when we dropped Ashley off at the airport! It was sooo cute, but sad too. I felt bad for Lauren because she didn't understand what was going on. David was such a good helper, he sang to her and tried to distract her in the back seat.

Fun News!
We have some exciting news!! We are buying a house!!! Since we know that we are staying in Perrysburg we decided to finally get out of our tiny apartment and put down some roots. We have our home inspection tomorrow morning (the 22nd) at 8am and if everything goes as planned, we will close on the 29th and get possession of our new house on June 5th!

It is already nicely landscaped, and now the Japanese Maple by the front porch is covered in pretty reddish leaves. I can't wait to get into the kitchen! I'll have room for all of my dishes again and enough counter space to cook! The kitchen is open to the dining area and the family room. That will be nice because it will be easy to keep an eye on the kids.

There is a pretty balcony overlooking the family room, the door you see on the second floor is the 4th bedroom. It will be a guest bedroom (feel free to come and visit us!!) The family room is a nice size, I'm excited about the fireplace and the vaulted ceiling!

This is the view from the back, I'll have to take more pictures tomorrow at the inspection so you can see the back yard. It's a half acre!!! The kids are going to have so much fun playing out there! I'm going to try to post again on Friday after I go through the pictures that I take tomorrow, but I'll get some pictures of the basement and the bedrooms and bathrooms. I'm so excited!!!

I thought I would end with another adorable picture of our adorable kids :oD (I didn't even pose them for this one! I just walked out into the living room and they were all snuggled up on the couch in David's blanket. How cute!

Have a good evening and I'll post again Friday!
