Update

I apologize (again!) for taking so long to update our web page! It seemed like over the past week I barely had time to check my e-mail. We have quite a bit of news to share, I will have to do an update towards Thursday or Friday with pictures since I haven't gotten a chance to download my camera in a few weeks and I don't have time to do it before bed tonight.

We love our house and neighborhood! We've met quite a few neighbors so far and they seem really nice, people have neighborhood get-togethers here too. We went to a new friend's house for the 3rd of July fireworks (okay, so they do things a little different around here) and had a good time. We decided that next year we're going to have a 4th of July BBQ (or 3rd, depending on when the 4th is being celebrated :oD) in our backyard because we have a completely unobstructed view of the Perrysburg fireworks and we can see the ones from a neighboring town as well. (Anyone who would like to be in the area next year is more than welcome to visit!) We are slowly finding little things that we'd like to fix or upgrade in the house, but nothing pressing and we're having fun planning what we'd like to do in different rooms as far as decorating. I can't wait to get out next spring and start making our yard look even nicer with some freshened up landscaping. I'm going to work out a landscape plan this fall so I can start saving up for all the plants I would like to purchase!

David is doing really well, he loves 0ur neighborhood and is making lots of new friends. He started playing coach-pitch baseball a couple of weeks ago and is really enjoying it. We bought him his own bat over the weekend and David and Chris are having fun with batting practice in the back yard. (No one's hit one over the fence yet, though.) Last week we finally took the training wheels off of David's bike because we noticed that when he was riding his bike they usually weren't touching the ground. David had great fun with this and didn't even need any help learning to balance, he just kind of took off. Last night he hit a little bump with the bike riding, though. Our day didn't end with a bang, it ended with a crash! Chris and I decided to take the kids and our next door neighbors' dog (who we are dog-sitting while they are on vacation) for an evening stroll. We were telling David how well he was doing on his bike, then Chris and I started talking about something or other and the next thing we knew David was on the sidewalk in front of his bike holding his face and screaming. We're not really sure what happened, we think maybe he forgot that he didn't still have his training wheels and tried to look behind him while he was riding really slow and his front wheel got caught on something. He went over the handle bars and landed on his mouth. I ran up to him and his whole mouth was covered in blood as well as one of his hands (which turned out to be from his mouth). I scooped him up and carried my poor screaming munchkin to another of our neighbors' houses because the husband and wife were both doctors and I wanted to make sure David was okay. No one answered when I knocked on the door so we headed for home to try to get David cleaned up and so I could call his dentist to see what needed to be done. While I was on the phone with the dentist's answering service, our neighbor TA (the doctor) knocked on our door to see if we'd been knocking on his door a few minutes before. (I'm thinking he opened his door and just followed the sound of David's screaming.) He came in and tried to get a look at David's mouth, but David really wouldn't let any of us get very near him. We finally got a good enough look to determine that he had knocked one of his baby teeth out and that was where a lot of the blood was coming from, it hadn't been loose or ready to come out. (Chris went back out and found it on the sidewalk and the tooth fairy visited last night and left David a $2 bill.) The dentist finally got transferred to me and told me to bring David in this morning for x-rays and a visit to make sure there was no severe trauma to his gums or adult teeth. Poor David was so swollen when he got up this morning, but he was a trooper and we headed off to the dentist while my friend Jenny watched Lauren. David's x-rays looked fine and Dr. Choksey said that we'll have to wait and see what happens with the top front teeth since the nerves are still forming. We are praying that they will continue to grow strong and healthy so David doesn't have to have root canals later on to compensate for damaged nerves. He is talking better tonight, although he still can't really close his mouth very well because his lip is so swollen, but he did enjoy the chocolate-peanut butter smoothie for breakfast and the chocolate ice cream for dinner that he got to have since he couldn't chew anything today!

Lauren is growing and learning so many new things. She is constantly climbing on everything, she's fallen off dining room chairs several times and always gets stuck in places where she needs help getting out. We've had one tumble down part of the stairs (with a nice scraped up forehead to show for it) and one tumble up the basement stairs (with a lovely bruise across the forehead to go along with the aforementioned scrape). She is talking more, or, at least saying more words that we can kind of understand. She loves playing in the backyard and front yard, she loves sidewalk chalk, but likes to color herself much more than the sidewalk, and she absolutely loves playing with bubbles. She enjoyed the 3rd of July party that we went to, right up until the part when she grabbed a sparkler that had just gone out and burned her hand pretty good. She was not a fan of that! She is such a little trooper, though. We iced her hand and she wanted to go right back out and watch the fireworks.

Chris is enjoying having a yard to work in again. We all are. We've had fun "family days" on Chris' days off and spent time together outside mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, trimming plants and all that good stuff. Chris has been playing baseball out back with David quite a bit and he re-organized the entire garage on Sunday. Work is keeping him busy, they have been short one manager for a few weeks because managers from Chris' restaurant have been traveling to other Smokey Bones' to help out when they were in desperate need of manager help and support.

I just started working part time (about 8 hrs a week) at the member services desk at the Perrysburg YMCA. The kids get to go into their kid care for 4 hours at a time for free while I'm working my two four-hour shifts per week. We get a great discount on our membership now that I work there and I'm getting some "mommy time" to boot. I feel like we're almost moved into our house, but there are still boxes of things to go through that I have to decide if I would like to keep or not. We are gearing up for a garage sale in August or September! Well, I've got to run off to bed so I can get up early tomorrow morning and get some stuff done before I go into work.

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July, and we miss you all and hope to see you or speak to you soon!!! I will post pictures soon!!!

Love,
Chris, Megan, David and Lauren Sutton

It's been so long!!!

I apologize for my recent neglect of our webpage!! We are finally getting through all the boxes, I can actually see a light at the end of the tunnel! We haven't really started any improvements on the house yet (unless you count fertilizing the yard and pulling out a lot of weeds and trimming trees, etc.) My challenges for today are the basement (and trust me, organizing that is going to be a challenge!) and hopefully steam-cleaning the living room. I will try to update and post pictures tonight after the kids go to bed. Lauren is just waking up from her nap so I've got to run and get her out of bed, I hope everyone is doing well and anticipating a fun and relaxing 4th of July!!
