Meet Miley!!

Okay, so I'm in the process of putting together our update for August (I'm almost done, be prepared for lots of pictures!) I couldn't wait to introduce you to our newest addition, though. Her name is Miley and she's between 4 and 6 months old (we'll find out more at her first vet visit tomorrow).
I've got to run and get ready for work now. The kids and Miley and I are going on a long walk after I get off work and then David has his "preview night" for school tonight from 5:30 to 7:30. I still can't believe that he starts first grade on Wednesday!!! I'll talk to you all soon and I'll get that August post up soon as well!!!
Love,
Chris, Megan, David, Lauren & Miley!

Finally!!!

Soooo, it's been an insanely long time since I updated our webpage and I apologize!!! This one has a lot of pictures, because we had a lot going on in July and August. (There will be a September update coming shortly, seeing as it is now October!) Soooo, grab some popcorn, get a drink and catch up with the Midwest Suttons!

Chris' grandparents (Bon-bon and Jack) came up to see us at the end of July and it was so nice to visit with them! One of the first mornings that they were here, Lauren and I stole Bon-bon and took her out for a fun girls' brunch at my favorite little cafe in Perrysburg.

Lauren was very excited to be out with the big girls and she loved the pretty food! (It was quite tasty too!)

The weather was so nice all week and we had a great time enjoying the time together and playing outdoors.

Lauren LOVES bubbles!! I think David was packing to go back to Texas with Bon-bon and Jack :oD

We got to take in one of David's baseball games while the family was here, I'm glad they got to come and see David in action!

I think David was glad to have the extra special spectators, he actually paid a little more attention to the game than usual! Lauren found plenty to amuse herself, as usual, she even watched the game a bit.

On July 27th we packed up the van and headed off on safari! There is a fun safari park near Port Clinton, Ohio called (appropriately enough) African Safari Wildlife Park. We had a great time and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the adults!

We made a lot of new friends, some were a bit better at a distance, though!
Like I said, some were better at a distance. (That buffalo had just gotten done swimming in his water hole. He slimed me!)

Mr. Llama here wanted to be our new friend too, he tried to steal all of our food! The deer were a little less pushy (or maybe just as pushy but a little less tall.)
Lauren really wasn't sure what to make of all this, but she really liked helping daddy drive the van!
David opted for a safer (less-likely-to-be-drooled-on) seat in the back with Bon-bon and Jack. Jack got to make a few new friends even way in the back seat.
The giraffes were pretty friendly, and so pretty! Their heads are HUGE up close!

I wanted a pet zebra, but Chris vetoed that idea. I guess that's okay, we'd have to watch out for "land mines" in the backyard when we were running around :oD
David decided that he was finally brave enough to ride a camel, I was so proud of him, he just hopped right on and waved! Lauren was jealous, but she'll have to wait a year or two.

David even tried his hand at riding the pony, he has finally decided that he loves animal rides!
After the rides we walked around and checked out the rest of the animals, then we headed off for our next adventure.
After the safari park, we headed off to Marblehead to see Lake Erie and the lighthouse. The water was beautiful and the weather was perfect! I was a little afraid that the kids (or one of the adults!) would fall and go into the water. Those wet rocks are slick! Luckily, we all stayed dry.

My two favorite men!

The kids had a great time exploring and climbing on all the rocks. David loved that we could just see Cedar Point across the water. We could even just make out the roller coasters on the tracks.
I was happy that I got a few "mommy pictures".
By the end of the day we were all exhausted, but happy and we headed home.

I found a few pictures from David's August 14th baseball game. I can't remember exactly what had just gone on here, I think David had watched the ball roll past him instead of trying to get it. Whoops :oD Better luck next time bud! (He may not be the star of the team, but he sure has fun :oD)
Lauren is my little Energizer bunny during all the games, I usually spend most of my time chasing her around! Every once in a while she'll stop for a picture . . . Cheese!!
Now that we have our nice backyard, we decided it was time for a pool!! Okay, so it may be a bit small, but it was definitely welcome on really hot days! (Can you believe how dark David gets?! And that's WITH me slathering him with sunscreen!)

David and I tried to teach Lauren how to blow bubbles in the pool, she was more interested in making us do it than in actually blowing them herself.

I love my silly kids!!!
This summer has been so nice! It is great to finally be back in a house with our own yard and enough space for the four of us!! We can't wait to build great family memories here with the kids (and with our friends and family who come to visit!) I hope you all had a great summer and I'll be back in a few days with a post to get you all caught up to October!
Love,
Chris, Megan, David & Lauren!!!
